Screening Process

We extensively screen candidates ahead of Family Interviews. This ensures peace of mind to families that Nannies Plus candidates are safe to be in their homes and caring for their children.

In order to be considered for our pool of outstanding candidates, nannies and family assistants must:

  • Have three or more years of professional, verifiable childcare experience after the age of 18, and not including friends and family
  • Have stellar, verifiable professional references
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Be willing to accept legal pay, W-2 positions
  • Able to make a long term, full time commitment (one or more years)
  • Currently live the the Bay Area
  • Demonstrate prompt and professional communication with the Nannies Plus team
  • Be willing to become CPR and First Aid certified before start of work
  • Be willing to be TB tested, and have a negative result before start of work
  • Be willing to undergo extensive background screenings:
    • Motor Vehicles Report
    • Social Security Number Verification
    • Government WatchList, which includes:
      • Multi-State Criminal Cases Information Search
      • National Sex Offender Registry Information Search
      • National Security Watch List Information Search
  • TrustLine clearance before start of work, which includes:
    • Fingerprint records of the FBI Criminal History System
    • Fingerprint records from the CA Department of Justice Criminal History System
    • Child Abuse Central Index of California
    • County Criminal Search
    • Federal District Court Search
