Instill the Spirit of the Holidays in Your Littles Through Volunteering!
Where: Alameda County Food Bank or from your home!
When: Anytime!
Cost: Free!
The holidays are about sharing love! In the East Bay, there are plenty of ways your family can donate time, money, or gently used clothing to people in need. The Alameda County Food Bank can always use help from behind the scenes volunteers at this time of year. Taking your littles to the food bank’s warehouse to help assemble packages for families in need is a great way to teach and model kindness.
If you’d prefer to stay home, you can host a One Warm Coat drive during your holiday festivities! Invite friends and family to bring a new or gently-used coat to keep someone warm this winter. Another great option is to start up a Meal Train for a loved one who recently welcomed a new baby. Transitioning into life with a new child is a whirlwind! Assistance with coordinating meals during the postpartum period can make a significant difference in their quality time together.
A memory of giving back is a gift that will last your child a lifetime!
