Hi Nannies Plus Community!  This September, we’re back at it – bringing you the best events the East Bay has to offer!  With big kids back at school, weekends are precious family connection time. Check out these awesome events to get your family through the back to school transition, and say hip, hip hooray for all the weekend has to offer!

Take it Easy on Labor Day at the Crab Cove Visitor Center’s Open House!

Where: Crab Cove Visitor Center – 1231 McKay Ave, Alameda, CA 94501

When: Monday, September 3rd – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Cost: Free!

Don’t feel crabby, come out to the Crab Cove Visitor Center and get happy!  For Labor Day Only, the Crab Cove Visitor Center is having an open house event that the whole family will love!  Throughout the day, there will be a storytime event, fish feeding at 3:00 p.m, and a special “Nature Family Fun Time”.  Marvel at the 800 gallon aquarium tank, and learn about the local aquatic ecosystem! Pro tip: Take a walk along the beach with the kids so everything they learn will come right to life!

Swing by Nannies Plus’ Temescal Neighborhood with Your Littles at the Tip Top Tots Sing-and-Dance Along!

Where: Tip Top Bike Shop – 4800 Telegraph Avenue #A Oakland, CA 94609

When: Friday, September 7th – 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Cost: Free!

Kiddos, come kick off Tip Top’s very first toddler sing and dance along!  Singer-songwriter Melita will be leading circle time, and she’s bringing her puppet friends to help out, too.  Start your morning with a little bit of movement, and maybe pick up some child-friendly bike gear (all of which will be 20% off for attendees)!  Tip Top Bike Shop is in Temescal, right down the street from the Nannies Plus office. We know the area pretty well, and our suggestion is to let the good times roll (dun dun chh)!  End the day with something sweet from Tara’s Organic Ice Cream or hunt for craft supplies at the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse.

Celebrate National Grandparent’s Day at Habitot!

Where: Habitot Children’s Museum – 2065 Kittredge St, Berkeley, CA 94704

When: Saturday, September 8th – 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Calling all Nannies Plus Community grandparents!  This event has your name written all over it! Habitot is a Bay Area staple with a wide variety of developmentally appropriate learn-through-play spaces for kids.  This year, they’re hosting a special event for grandparents, who will receive free admission for the day! Go to their water table, multicultural reading tent, and wind tunnel for all necessary ingredients for a memorable day.  And for a special take home souvenir, go try out the Grandparent’s Day Make-A-Plate opportunity in the art studio (for an additional $20 donation). Grab your little ones, and celebrate the joys of being a grandparent at this interactive space!

Bundle Up with Your Wild Ones for The Jungle Book Under the Stars

Where: Civic Park – 1375 Civic Dr, Walnut Creek, CA 94596

When: Friday, September 28th – Music begins at 5:30 p.m, movie begins at 7:00 pm.

Cost: Free!

The Nannies Plus Team hopes everyone can make it out to another magical night brought to us by the City of Walnut Creek!  This summer, they launched a series of summertime music and movie events. The Jungle Book night at Civic Park will be the grand finale of the season!  Mamas and papas will love the live music (perhaps to accompany a picnic dinner), and the kids will love running free at the park just before sundown.  Then, at 7:00 p.m, the movie will begin! Bundle up, enjoy some snacks together, and bond over this wild Disney classic.
