1. 2017 Cinco de Mayo Festival on Valencia Street, Mission District, SF

Mission Neighborhood Centers’ 13th annual San Francisco Cinco de Mayo is a family friendly cultural celebration that is open to all members of the community! The celebration takes place on Valencia Street, the Mission’s new trendy, main thoroughfares, and the event is focused on retaining cultural traditions in its community.

The celebration will showcase the very best of Mexican and Latin American cultures with a diverse array of Mexican and Latino foods, music, dance and artistry for the entire family to enjoy. Stop by the Plaza de Los Niños/ Kids’ Zone for a large variety of activities for children including balloon fun, gymnastics/motion activities, art activities, special guests, magic tricks, and an inflatable!

  1. Bites off Broadway @ Studio One Art Center, Oakland

A growing new arts community in the heart of Oakland, Studio One Art Center is a treasured space for youth, teens, and adults. Every Friday, the center opens its courtyard to “Bites off Broadway”, a super family friendly food truck event! Not only can you savor a delicious meal with lots of options choose from, you’ll enjoy music, balloon twisters, and movie screenings. Don’t miss this special family event for the whole community.

Families living in the Elmwood area will enjoy a fun weekend jam packed with kid-friendly activities. Live music, chalk art, a scavenger hunt with prizes…plus a FREE Muppet movie screening, Saturday at noon. Its also a great time to slip away and do some shopping, as there will be tons of special sales at participating retailers. An afternoon of fun, and it’s all just down the block!

4. Drop-In Lego Play @ Play-Well Marin Activity Center, Marin

Check out the activities happening at Play-Well, where your child can learn through guided play provided by knowledgeable staff. Get your child excited about STEM with LEGO as the foundational building blocks to learning. Drop-In sessions offer structured and free-form hands-on activities in engineering, physics, architecture, and art that enforce concepts from physics, math, and design.
