Nestled in the east shore of the Tiburon Peninsula, Paradise Beach Park is filled with colorful poplar trees and rolling green hillsides, and offers stunning views of the Bay. The park is hosting a family friendly event that encourages creativity and is fun for all ages. Bring a found treasure or find one at the park, and create your own souvenir necklace. Rangers will provide instruction on the ancient Viking technique, Nalbinding, a process similar to knitting or crocheting, that will transform your treasure into a pendant you can wear! Supplies and healthy snacks will be provided.

Roll in the Year of the Rooster with this family friendly event!
Lunar New Year Celebration: Year of the Rooster @ the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco
Talented dancers and musicians will perform at the Asian Art Museum’s annual Lunar New Year Celebration. Students from the Chinese American International School and China Dance School and Theatre present traditional and modern music, as well as dances from China, to kick off the Lunar New Year. Join in with a playful student-arranged version of the lion dance, which is believed to scare away evil spirits and ensure a bright beginning to the year. After the performances, enjoy author Oliver Chin’s story about Chinese zodiac animals’ characteristics and discover something new about yourself. Listen to new year stories and make art projects to bring you luck and prosperity in the Year of the Rooster.

The Lafayette Reservoir is a fun place to visit and hike with kids and dogs!
Hiking, Picnic, and Playground @ Lafayette Reservoir, Lafayette
Come for a hike and enjoy scenic views of the reservoir and the native wildlife that inhabit this family friendly recreation area. You can even bring a bite to eat and enjoy a little picnic lunch together at one of the many picnic tables, or spread out a blanket on the green. At the end of the trail, a children’s playground is located on the east lawn. A special treat for children that can be a rewarding end to the hike!
